A unique experience
SUMMIT is the latest observation deck in New York City that opened in 2021. A visit to the summit will give you a unique experience compared to the Empire State Building, Top of the Rock, or any other observation deck. You’ll step into an immersive, multi-sensory art experience with a surreal 360-degree view of the city created by Kenzo Digital. Summit is located in the One Vanderbilt building, which is the fourth tallest building in New York City.
Good to know is that it’s recommended to not wear a skirt or a dress since the floor and ceilings are all covered in mirrors.
Since SUMMIT is located right next to Grand Central in the middle of Midtown you’ll get a great view of the Empire State Building, Bryant Park, Times Square, and more.

Tickets to SUMMIT are known for getting sold out fast and especially for sunset. Make sure to book your tickets on time. It’s a great experience coming here both during the day and at night and it will give you two completely different experiences. If you want to see the surrounding buildings or Central Park you should come here during the day. It’s most popular to come around sunset when you get to experience both.
Children under 5 years old can enter for free and don’t need a ticket.

How to get to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt
SUMMIT is located on the 91-93rd floor in the skyscraper One Vanderbilt right outside Grand Central.
To get there you can take the subway to Grand Central 42nd Street station with the 4, 5, 6, 7, and S lines. The fastest way to get there from Grand Central is by walking to the Main Concourse and exiting through the doors on top of the big stairs on the opposite side of the Apple store. You’ll see the building right in front of you slightly to the left as soon as you get outside.
