Edge – Tallest observation deck in New York

Edge is one of the newest additions to New York City and opened in 2020. This is one of my personal favorite observation decks in NYC. Edge is not only the tallest observation deck in New York but also in the western hemisphere. Edge is located on the 100th floor in one of the tallest buildings in New York 30 Hudson Yards.

Edge has an indoor and outdoor section where all the walls are covered in glass to give you the best view possible. The outdoor section has a spot where the floor is covered in glass and you can look down to the street below. This is probably nothing for you if you’re scared of heights.

One of my favorite thing to do at Edge is to grab something to drink and sit outside on the steps and soak in the beautiful view looking downtown Manhattan.

Other observation decks in New York

If you’re planning on visiting more observation decks than Edge you have many options. If you already plan on visiting Edge, which is a newer more modern observation deck I would then suggest a visit to Top of the Rock or the Empire State Building. Because these buildings are very old, you will have a completely different feeling and experience. The Empire State Building and Top of the Rock are both located in the middle of Midtown which will give you a better view of the whole city surrounding Manhattan.
